Dr. Jessica Franco, DC MA, an LA native from a family of firefighters, trekked it to the Bay Area close to ten years ago after having recieved her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton, all while working as a NASM certified Personal Trainer. Once in the bay she obtained a Masters degree from John F. Kennedy University in Consciousness and Transformative Studies whilst simultaneously working on her pre-requisites for medical school. A series of experiences led to the realization that a career dedicated to the prevention of illness, rather than triage post disease, was where her heart was at, and so she began attending Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA.
Once in school, she complemented her education with numerous seminars of various techniques and continually applied them to her family and friends in order to solidify all that she learned.
Her techniques range from the lighter force of Activator (instrument adjusting), Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT), Craniosacral Therapy, Thompson Drop Table, BGI (Biogeometric Integration), Motion Palpation, and the Webster technique (for pregnant mothers), all the way to the more forceful applications of Diversified and Gonstead (also known as Osseous adjusting).
She has come to recognize that her passion is with not only adjusting extremities, but she has become an incredibly proficient myofascial specialist that utilizes KinesioTape, RockTape, tool assisted myofascial release, ART (Active Release Technique), and her favorite, FDM (Fascial Distortion Model).
Even with all that she has learned, there is no sign of her education ceasing here. There is definitely more to come as well as to give back. She is a Team Leader, as well as on the Board of Spinal Missions, a non profit chiropractic mission organization that visits places such as El Salvador and Jamaica, in order to bring this wonderful healing practice to people who cannot afford nor have access to it.
She has worked at a few locations here in the Bay Area, and has finally found her home at Back in Balance Chiropractic alongside the wonderful Dr. Laurie Klein. Her guidance and generosity at Back in Balance has already allowed her to grow as a practitioner as well as expand the circle of people that she can help with her training and knowledge.
